Train

The train is also a reliable method of transportation in Tunisia, although doesn't run as often. Please visit www.sncft.com.tn for timetables and purchasing your tickets online in advance.

Louage

The louage is a popular way to get around Tunisia. It is a shared taxi, that once filled up (7-8 passangers) departs for its destination. This is the most flexible means of transport, and you can wait from 5 minutes up to 1hr to depart.

Sousse:

Noddy Train in Sousse/Port el Kantaoui: This touristic train brings you along the coastline from Sousse to Port El Kantoaui, about 5 miles.

Tunis:

TGM (Tunis, La Goulette, La Marsa): Metro/Train that brings you from center-Tunis through Carthage, Sidi Bou Said, and la Marsa. Departs every 12 minutes during the day, and every 30 minutes after 18:00 (every 18 minutes on Sundays).

Metro (SMLT): This is the best way to get to Bardo Museum from center-Tunis. From the main station, take line '4' to Bardo Station. The museum is only a few minutes away.

Tozeur/Sousse/Hammamet:

Calèche: These are horse-driven carriages. In some towns, like Tozeur, the calèche-drivers can offer you 1 to 3 hours tours of the entire city. Prices can be bargained with the driver.
