There is no strict dress code in Tunisia, although a few guidelines. Foreigners are expected to be respectful to Tunisians, and in traditional cities dress more moderately. This may mean instead of shorts and a tank top in Sousse, a t-shirt and capris in Tozeur and Douz. As a rule of thumb, the more you cover up, the less you'll be noticed as a tourist. On the beach: bikinis are acceptable on private and public beaches. At hotels: No dress code in hotels At Mosques and Religious places: To enter, shorts (even for men) and skirts above the knee are forbidden, and women must cover their head. |
